HOWTO
Download the CDROM image from the download page. On GNU/Linux system this could be done by:
wget http://issaris.be/rtai/pirt.iso wget http://issaris.be/rtai/pirt.iso.md5
Verify the MD5 checksum to see if the download completed correctly. On GNU/Linux system this could be done by comparing the downloaded prt.iso.md5 with the result of:
md5sum pirt.iso
Write the CDROM ISO image with your favorite CD-writing software. On GNU/Linux systems this could be done by:
cdrecord -v pirt.iso
Insert the CD into the system you want to test and reboot the machine.
If possible, disable USB support and power management support in the BIOS.

After booting you will be shown a prompt with which you can select your CD driveby entering a few characters. The following list shows the mapping:
- hda
- Master on the first IDE controller
- hdb
- Slave on the first IDE controller
- hdc
- Master on the second IDE controller
- hdd
- Slave on the second IDE controller
By default it will use "hdc" meaning that it will use the master drive on the second IDE controllor.
On completion of the bootprocess, you will be presented by a splash screen, followed by a dialog asking you whether you want to configure your networkcard using DHCP.

If you choose not to use DHCP, you will be given the chance to configure the network manually.

Next you'll be presented with a menu, allowing you to run the RTAI testsuite tests and send the results to the Internet database associated with this website.

Select the first item and press enter to run the kernelspace latency test, followed by the userspace latency test.
At the start of each test you will receive a warning about the way you should end the test and how long you should leave it running.

INFO: When actually booting the CD, there will be actual results shown in this screen. These screenshots are acquired from within the QEMU emulator.
The next step is optional, it asks you to give some form of identifier, such as you e-mailaddress, name or even just a nickname. E-mailaddresses will be obfuscated.

You are now encouraged to send the acquired results to the database. There are two possibilities for doing this: using the configured network connection or using an upload floppydisk.
To upload the data using a floppydisk, select "Create upload floppydisk" in the menu. This will give you a short explanation of how to create such a disk.

If the floppy is not usable, it will notify you accordingly.

Next you'll receive a short explanation on how to upload the data. This is really simple: just insert the floppydisk in a PC which has a network connection and click on the submitfile, followed by a click on the submitlink.

To upload the data using the network connection, just select item 5 from the menu.
You will be notified about the success of the upload of the testsuite data.
Thank you for trying this testsuite!
